    A perfect abode for the bird lovers and nature enthusiasts, Thattekad Bird Sanctuary is Kerala’s first bird sanctuary. Established in 1983, this sanctuary is spread across an area of 25-sqm. This place is home to around 284 species of birds which rests close to the north of the Periyar River. Known for the abundant number of birds residing within the region, this is one of the best things to see in Ernakulam.
